Dr. Stella Kourkouta (Dr. Styliani Kourkouta) is a GDC registered Specialist in Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, and a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She completed her Master of Medical Science in Restorative Dentistry (subspecialty Periodontology) at the University of Sheffield, where her thesis was on periodontal response to porcelain veneers. This laid the foundation for her future research and expertise in the field.
After completing her master's degree, she pursued advanced training in a multitude of University and National Health Service positions throughout the UK. She gained extensive hands-on experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and restorative dentistry, which culminated in Higher Specialist Training at Consultant level at the Eastman Dental Hospital & Institute in London.
Dr. Stella Kourkouta's commitment to excellence in her field was recognized when she received the George Cross Fellowship Award from the British Society of Periodontology. This award enabled her to further her knowledge and experience by conducting her elective study on implant therapy in compromised sites at the University of Southern California and the University of California in Los Angeles.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Kourkouta also completed successfully the one-year ITI research scholarship through the International Team for Implantology. During this time, she studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, investigating the dimensions of soft and hard tissues in relation to the presence of papillae between implants in the aesthetic zone and patient satisfaction.
